Many drug store shaving gels will contain lots of harsh chemicals and will not provide the skin with the essential hydration required.
Using a good quality shaving balm will help rejuvenate your skin, not only will it improve the smoothness of your shave by creating a protective barrier between the skin and the blade. It will keep the skin moisturised, sterilised and prevent razor rash and irritation.
You can also use a shave oil prior to applying your balm to add an extra layer of lubrication and protection.
You will want to look out for products containing tea tree oil as this acts as a natural antiseptic which will help to prevent shave rash and infections.
